Replaced all my shocks on my 1997 Cobra Convertible with Bilstein HD shocks. All I can say is “wow!” The car handled like it was on rails and the ride was superb.
Not too stiff but also not too soft. It wasn’t a teeth shattering ride but it wasn’t a sedan feeling either. The shocks didn’t make the car feel like it was floating in the corners at high speeds. It made the car feel sure footed and precise.
Body roll at high speeds in a turn was at a minimum. The 1997 cobra came with a solid rear axial. People who have had a car with a solid rear axial know what I am taking about. When the car goes over a bump while in a turn, the car has a tendency to hop or skip, not so after I replaced all my shocks with the Bilstein.
The hop and skip became non existent. I also have a 2003 cobra, it came with Bilstein HD shocks and I noticed the ride and handling was par and if not better than my 1997 cobra with Bilstein HD shocks.
If i ever need to replace my shocks on any of my cars, you can bet I will be looking to get the Bilsteins HD. I based my purchase on the positive feedback I read on the Bilstein HD.
